Perhaps it's because my tastes vary wildly from day to day and I could never settle on one look, so it's admirable to see someone have such a set style. And it amazes me how it can be so classic yet "alternative" at the same time!<br />
<br />
Of course part of this obsession is reawakening my need to wear red lipstick more often! I've gone ahead and swatched my entire red collection.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSS-DK9GXW8j4pii9MFz6BryduKlOX6zygb7TQ3eZILn2FdJw_yw0ld1BZiOdlTj7hutE14y6tV_7y0MiJUjxLKaC3XUkJ97rzMG-Nzs3nxzTK69qhSVEf4Ruh_RvCigj1uL8OsZGQ3Tc/s1600/IMGP9097.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSS-DK9GXW8j4pii9MFz6BryduKlOX6zygb7TQ3eZILn2FdJw_yw0ld1BZiOdlTj7hutE14y6tV_7y0MiJUjxLKaC3XUkJ97rzMG-Nzs3nxzTK69qhSVEf4Ruh_RvCigj1uL8OsZGQ3Tc/s400/IMGP9097.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
From top to bottom:<br />
<br />
Besame cosmetics "Red Velvet". Honestly, this is the ultimate lipstick. SO smooth and pigmented, and the color is absolutely perfect on my skin (IMO). Unfortunately, it's $22, which for my budget is almost unthinkable. I've been hoarding on to my little matchbook samples for months, but I can see myself giving in and buying a tube for a special occasion.<br />
<br />
Life's Entropy "PKA". This lipstick is made in a similar formula to OCC liptars. Not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks as my lips are quite dehydrated as is, but since this color is so similar to Red Velvet (just a tad less saturated) I'll gladly sacrifice some comfort for PKA! $8 for a tube.<br />
<br />
Milani lip liner in "True Red". A bright, blue based red. Love this smooth lip liner!<br />
<br />
Wet n Wild's "Stoplight Red". A pinky-red. I love WnW's megalast lipsticks, for $3 the quality is incredible. They do tug a slight bit on application, but they're not dehydrating, even on my super dry lips.<br />
<br />
NYC's "Retro Red". The brightest red I own! A true red that leans towards the warm side. This was only $1! Glides on easily, but doesn't have the staying power that Besame's had.<br />
<br />

Not my usual crowd, but it was so much fun! It was my first time doing anything "professional" with makeup, even if I was just an assist. I'd definitely want to do something similar again.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, today I thought I'd just post my own EOTD. A green look to follow up from the swatches from my last post!</div>

<br />
<br />I've been on a green eyeshadow kick lately, so I figured I'd share swatches of my little collection. These swatches show the eyeshadow over Pixie Epoxy on the left half, and bare skin on the right half.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">
From top to bottom:<br /><br />Brija Cosmetics "Brave", a blue toned emerald. Just bought this gorgeous shadow! I was surprised at how blue it is. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Shiro Cosmetics's Diggy Diggy Hole, brown-green duochrome. I get compliments on this one all the time!<br /><br />Brija Cosmetics "Zelena", grass-green and copper. The least shimmery of the bunch, I think this one looks best over Pixie Epoxy because it really brings out the copper bits.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Femme Fatale's The Dreamer, olive and lime duochrome. This one is really sheer without a tacky base! I normally use this color to layer on top of others.<br /><br />Dawn Eye Cosmetic's "Gold Gilded Blue". Technically a blue but green enough to count, right? This color is so beautiful, but I find it's really hard to wear as a look. </div>
<br /><div style="text-align: left;">
AFK Cosmetic's "Wonderflonium". This is a frosty pastel green, but for some reason it shows up very blue in my photo. Maybe it's from the flash back? </div>

It's just a weird transitional period for the both of us. He's finished school and the only industry jobs he's been able to come across have been small freelance gigs... not enough $$ for both rent and student loans. Meanwhile, I'm still stuck down here in school for my final semester. Here's hoping we can both find some sort of stability together by the end of 2015!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In other news, it's been unbearably hot in my neck of the woods. Normally I work out at the gym, but with this heat I've been speed swimming at the pool instead. I grew up competitively swimming since the age of 6 to the end of high school. It's the only sport I've ever felt competent at, but it's been so long since I stopped that I felt extremely stiff and sluggish at the pool this week. Definitely going to try and get back into the groove of things by working swimming back into my weekly schedule.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_vHBQNsf1ABDFn0-HlLNI-VRwuxLNfglizeSrGSwQGcttN4awz1T0ci7FANSt-Zv1qoWwD3gW1jRCBNa-tQ4nrB6owTwCrk3W1j7WyxQ_mMt4qqJa6azCdQaYHXvooCdMRcuOWqVlmDc/s1600/4blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_vHBQNsf1ABDFn0-HlLNI-VRwuxLNfglizeSrGSwQGcttN4awz1T0ci7FANSt-Zv1qoWwD3gW1jRCBNa-tQ4nrB6owTwCrk3W1j7WyxQ_mMt4qqJa6azCdQaYHXvooCdMRcuOWqVlmDc/s1600/4blog.jpg" height="400" width="343" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Enough with the health talk, check out that amazing shaved ice! </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Also, I've developed a huge interest in lingerie these past few months. I have no idea where this obsession came from, but it's been a fun distraction from heavy schoolwork. Lingerie is just one of those things that is purely 100% for <i>you.</i> No one else's satisfaction get's taken into account but your own (and maybe your partner? idk, only sometimes). It's so self-indulgent and just a tad bit unnecessary... just like all the other frivolous things that appeal to me in life! </div>
<div>

<br />
It's a college students room, so it's just second hand furniture with a tiny decor budget, but I don't think it's <i>too</i> bad when you take those things into consideration!<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The bed! Origami cranes on one wall, art on the other. As you can see, it's barely brushing my desk- not a whole lot of wiggle room!</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My beat-up desk. I have string lights coming down from across my entire wall, the last picture couldn't capture them in the frame.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
It's a pretty small room and I only get half of it since I have a roommate, but rent in these parts isn't cheap so you do what you can :) There's really not a whole lot of spaces within it to take pictures of and officially call this a <u>real</u> tour, but y'all get it!<br />
<br />
What I especially like about my room is the lighting. The rooms I've rented at in previous apartment complexes and the rooms I've lived in at my parents place both have really poor natural light during the day. Not only that but I've also never really had strong enough lighting in my previous rooms at night either due to lack of ceiling lights. However, this place actually has a proper ceiling light plus my string lights so I can get plenty of brightness and no eye-strain once the sun goes down!<br />

<br />
I've been really into small independent makeup and perfume companies lately! I love supporting small businesses and indie shops normally use milder and fewer ingredients in their products, which for me is another plus.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately because most of these shops are internet-based, there's a lot of trial and error that goes into finding the right products.<br />
<br />
One very well known indie perfume company is <a href="http://www.hausofgloi.com/">Haus of Gloi</a>. I ordered a couple of sample perfume oils as well as a full size of their body emulsion. Onto the review!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcubXkbphSwiuhNWYzAq1F9ddE-_xqS2w0K4zgf9ur-saTTftUg0PKMmFqGHxQBIbaWsTfTzjDiL0haCwu1PYWfateOs4T5y6SJH0ggpU2YnumDzgYYh2bR87tCk6hznjHuthJL_t8uYc/s1600/IMGP5024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcubXkbphSwiuhNWYzAq1F9ddE-_xqS2w0K4zgf9ur-saTTftUg0PKMmFqGHxQBIbaWsTfTzjDiL0haCwu1PYWfateOs4T5y6SJH0ggpU2YnumDzgYYh2bR87tCk6hznjHuthJL_t8uYc/s1600/IMGP5024.JPG" height="320" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Perfume Oils:</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Litchi Milk Tea, "Tart lychee fruit and black tea met with a splash of coconut milk".</div>
<br />
<b>In the bottle:</b> Purely lychee. Sweet, but not tart.<br />
<b>On skin:</b> Still sweet but with flashes of tartness. Still smells like straight up lychee, I'm having a hard time smelling the black tea or the coconut milk, too bad because I love coconut! <br />
<b>Personal Opinions:</b> I like that this is definitely a scent I haven't smelled before among mainstream perfumes, however I wouldn't repurchase. On my skin, this is just a lychee scent rather than a lychee milk tea scent. A bit too one-note and too sweet. Normally a crowd pleaser though, people love this scent and praise it to high heavens.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Imp, "Passionfruit, sun cured apricots, pink grapefruit juice and innocent mimosa blossoms".</div>
<br />
<b>In the bottle:</b> Much more of a tart fruity scent than litchi. Very pungent, fruity, and sweet.<br />
<b>On skin:</b> I'm smelling a lot of apricot here. Passion fruit is prominent as well but secondary to the apricot. Can't smell the grapefruit, which was what attracted me to Imp in the first place! Mimosa blossoms are very <i>very</i> subtle. The more time it takes to sit the more it softens into something I like better, but it's still a very pungent scent and never loses it's energy.<br />
<b>Personal opinions: </b>I like this one a little better than Litchi, especially after it tones down a bit after drying. But I still wouldn't repurchase this one. It's just too sweet for my liking. My boyfriend said it reminded him of a Febreeze scent and I'd have to agree- very fragrant, but not very sophisticated.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Who Needs Love, "chocolaty orbs, coated in crystallized coffee – filled with a pomegranate and raspberry filling." This scent was a freebie thrown in with the order!</div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>In the bottle: </b>S</span></span>trongly chocolate, then turns to a fruitier note which must be the berries, but I'm not picking up too much of the coffee. Extremely sweet, nay, <i>cloyingly</i> sweet.<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>On skin: </b>C</span></span>hocolate smells a bit more bitter, maybe that's the coffee's doing! After the chocolate starts to fade the scent becomes more and more soapy… like a fruit scented soap.<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>Personal opinions: </b>As y'all can tell by now, I don't like sweet scents so I never ever buy dessert scented things. This is a scent that never would have caught my eye had it not been a freebie. M</span></span>y classmate described it as a scent that might be fun for a short while before you get sick of it. I think that's accurate.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Body Emulsion:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Aether, "absolute nothingness". AKA unscented!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Personal opinions: I totally love this body lotion! Moisturizes well and dries quick, maybe not thick enough for winter, but I live in a warm weather climate so it's perfect for me! And I love that HoG offers an unscented lotion option, I hate when my body products compete with the scents of my perfumes. I am most definitely planning on repurchasing once I run out.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Overall experience:</span><br />
<br />
Although disappointed with the scents of the perfumes I ordered, that was just a matter of personal taste and not due to poor quality. The service provided by Haus of Gloi was great, and I love how they throw in an extra free sample with your orders! Would I shop here again? Yes, though more so for the body lotions/soaps/scrups rather than for the perfumes!<br />

Work and school has left me with little free-time so I've been a little pooped! I'm so glad one of my classes is ending this week... as much as I love art history I need some down time to go unwind on the beach.<br />
<br />
One of my other classes is all the way in LA and since I normally don't get scheduled to work afterwards, I've decided to make the most of that and check out new parts of the city after class. It's normally the highlight of my week now! I've discovered many affordable new thrift stores and boutiques, lots of cute cafes, and explored art galleries and museums- one of my favorite things to do.<br />

One of the many cafes I've tried out has been the Trails cafe. I knew I had to see it <a href="http://theselby.com/galleries/the-trails-cafe-los-angeles/">after reading about it</a> on The Selby, one of my favorite design websites! Their famed eggs in a basket was all sold out, but their avocado sandwich was pretty great... and their pie! So worth the price, it's a <i>heaping</i> slice of it! I regret not taking any pictures of my own there, so I encourage you to check out their Selby photo article instead!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13792781671179745728noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6610794502113332440.post-47881233152107342122013-06-13T23:48:00.001-07:002013-06-13T23:48:25.783-07:00Trip to the Bay AreaEarlier this month I took a little trip to the Bay Area with my bf and his sister during a window of free time between school and work. I haven't been there since I was 8 years old so it was almost like visiting it for the first time! San Jose was alright, quiet and quaint mostly, but San Francisco was the best city I've visited in a long time! <br />
<br />
In San Jose we mostly just visited my bf's old friends since that's where he's from. One of his friends took us on lovely little trail with a great view. I thought that was such a nice change from the usual boba shop/restaurant meet ups people normally do!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">unfortunately I forgot the name of this trail<br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We spent almost 2 days in San Fran. Mostly doing the regular tourist thing... we spent the bulk of our time in Chinatown where we bought some awesome egg tarts, also visited Castro street <i>of course</i> and had dinner at Tartine! We lucked out on parking since we came during off-peak hours and had a yummy croque monsier with the best chocolate pudding I've ever eaten. 5/5 stars.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">it was almost mousse-like actually!</td></tr>

And the next night we went to Nightlife at the Academy of Sciences, which if anybody who reads this ever gets the opportunity should go to! Basically every Thursday night the museum gets roped off to only 21 and up, they bring in djs and bartenders and basically it's just a fun adults night at the gorgeous museum! The rainforest, aquarium, planetarium blend reminded me a lot of a condensed form of Moody Gardens, for any Texan folk. I loved it, definitely will make a return trip next time I'm up.<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I'm still pretty bummed knowing that trips see to each other will now by few and far between, but that's life isn't it? Everyone moves away eventually... But at least our last weekend spent together was a lot of fun! We went out to explore new places in our college town that we had never gotten around to doing.<br />

<br />
At night, we ended up watching the entire series of Detroit Metal City, which is an anime about a sweet, feminine boy who dreams of being a pop star but ends up having to work as a crude and vulgar heavy metal rocker instead. The animation and art style is nothing to write home about, but the irony of the story is entertaining enough to keep you going.<br />
<br />
Other than that, no new news worth reporting so I'll bring this post to an end. Hope y'all all have a great Valentines day (whether you like the holiday or not)!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13792781671179745728noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6610794502113332440.post-34112768532569605382012-12-19T01:46:00.003-08:002012-12-19T01:48:51.678-08:00Mori Girl Style<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">My grueling finals are OVER, I can finally get back to spending time on the internet guilt free :)</span><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This Autumn and Winter I've become quite interested in mori girl style! It has a very romantic-woodsy-fairytale appeal with a dash of mysteriousness. I've had a lot of fun sketching out characters and sketches that are "forest girl" inspired although I myself am not sure if I'd want to make a big closet makeover into total mori girl. Seeing it on other people and using it as an influence in character design is one thing, but wearing shapeless below-the-knee dresses 24/7 is something I'm not sure I can commit to. Maybe a couple of pieces here and there will suffice for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://media-cache-ec2.pinterest.com/upload/232076187017414329_L553vXbA_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ec2.pinterest.com/upload/232076187017414329_L553vXbA_c.jpg" height="400" width="253" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Typical mori girl, for example.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
Instead, beyond the clothing style, what I'm enjoying most out of this trend is finding mori girl inspired home decor. I used to be strictly clean-cut contemporary home design only kind of gal, but suddenly I've found newfound appreciation for rustic accents and shabby cottage inspired interiors. I love the idea of having lush green plants growing all about the house and I'm trying to come up with a way to introduce this home decor style to the half-room I rent at school, but it's been tough. Maybe I'll post a couple of pictures for a room tour of sorts and see if any reader might have any suggestions :) But that'll have to wait until I go back in January because for now I am home free for the holidays!<br />

I did some online shopping at the end of October, and nearly two weeks later my tights finally came in the mail! I got one "tattoo tight" with a bone print on them that I really like and a pair of "faux-suspender" stockings with little transparent polka dots that don't show up in the picture. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

</tbody></table>
I gotta admit, when I first got the tattoo tights in the mail I was a little disappointed that the material was actually an<i> opaque</i> nude tight instead of transparent, but they were so comfortable once I tried them on that I decided I didn't care! I wore them out today and got some nice compliments so that also makes it all the better :)<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Christmas decorations from when I was walking around at the beach! I love this time of year!</td></tr>

So besides new tights I actually had a really social past weekend, despite the impending finals. Jesse's roommates and friends cooked up an amazing Mexican dinner on Friday followed by hours of hot tub, and Saturday evening after class was my roommates' Thanksgiving pot luck. We had some high school kids try (multiple times) to crash with beer as a peace offering, I guess it looked like we were having some raging house party from outside but it was actually a pretty mild-mannered gathering, lol.<br />
<br />
And finally, at long last, I'm on Thanksgiving break. Going to try to have an awesome, yet still productive (final projects due in 3 more weeks) long weekend!<br />
<br />
Take care!<br />

It was the perfect weather for walking around and checking out the seasonal store fronts. My favorite is the candy apple store, I love watching them make the Halloween apples!<br />

Not as many people out in costume as I thought there'd be, except for a couple of really cute toddler princesses. And these two cool tourist girls pictured below:<br />

I always try to hit pan before buying a new product (budget reasons), so it's a relatively small collection of make up. But since I love seeing other blogger's make-up collections, I thought I'd do the same!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM3ZA8zyy3k5bg0oT0OFj7-VldtF_Fw2EDFTYfjjAZaCSguGZMkcFKYOLmrh7vPzREudecywswqscZvxeUa9OZMRTOIHLe7vVCCH3fbwoECNMGhiWYqwdQ-Ei3p9dmGyupxmHbP0xL7gs/s1600/mu102012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM3ZA8zyy3k5bg0oT0OFj7-VldtF_Fw2EDFTYfjjAZaCSguGZMkcFKYOLmrh7vPzREudecywswqscZvxeUa9OZMRTOIHLe7vVCCH3fbwoECNMGhiWYqwdQ-Ei3p9dmGyupxmHbP0xL7gs/s400/mu102012.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b>1. </b>Betsey Johnson and Too Faced make-up bags. Used when traveling, but for now they hold an assortment of Lancome's Juicy Tubes, Smashbox's Primer, mascaras, etc. <br />
<b>2.</b> Moroccan Oil. Not make-up, but on the shelf anyways. Very important to keep my ombre tips from drying out.<br />
<b>3.</b> Physician's Formula Happy Booster blush in Rose.<br />
<b>4.</b> Laura Mercier's translucent powder.<br />
<b>5.</b> My make-up brushes. Most are from Sephora and Too Faced.<br />
<b>6.</b> Lancome blush in Aplum.<br />
<b>7.</b> Josie Maran's Argan Blend concealer.<br />
<b>8.</b> Some drugstore eyeshadow palettes.<br />
<b>9.</b> Lancome eyeshadows in Drama, Pink Zinc, and Pink Pearls.<br />
<b>10.</b> Mabelline's Fit Me foundation (I've just about run out of this).<br />
<b>11.</b> My moisturizers for day(Olay), night (Lumene), and eye cream (L'Oreal).<br />
<br />
So there it all is, pretty basic for the most part. But in other news, I love how my new bathroom has a closet inside of it. Now instead of stashing my make-up and brushes under the sink, I can organize them at eye-level on that little shelf!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13792781671179745728noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6610794502113332440.post-54220587732813780682012-10-11T22:13:00.003-07:002012-10-11T22:14:49.030-07:00Welcome October!I shouldn't really be on the internet right now (midterms next week), but I really wanted to blog! I've been so busy with all my classes lately, honestly I'm kind of nervous about my grades in 3D animation and visual development... But I will pull through! I won't let myself or my grades slip this year.<br />
<br />
So although this past week has been mostly school-homework-sleep, I did whip up some mini pumpkin pies for my roommates and I! I can't let October go by without doing anything pumpkin related, I'm really seasonal when it comes to Autumn and Winter :><br />

Tomorrow after my life drawing class I'm going out with a friend for a good-bye dinner. She's leaving back to Seoul for an indefinite amount of time, unfortunately. We'll be going out with a small group of mutual friends to eat... Ethiopian food! I've never eaten Ethiopian cuisine before, so that'll be exciting to try out!<br />

Despite accidentally falling asleep at 5am, I managed to pull through and finish what was due. Unfortunately, the aftermath of that was nodding off in class. Although all-nighters are common among college kids, art college kids especially, I'd really like for that to be the last time I do that until finals.<br />
<br />
On a brighter note, I spent my lunch hour at the beach with J! We couldn't get all the way in of course, but it was nice to wade in the water before having to get back inside the dark and chilly classroom. School comes first, but I really hope I can squeeze in a real beach day before the weather catches up to October!<br />

First post in my new blog! The first post is never the best, full of grammatical errors and still a little awkward as I'm trying to find my footing. One goal for sure that I have for this blog is to fill it with images. Like any other art student, I'm a visual person, and blogs of just text are definitely not as eye-catching. Unfortunately, this first post will not have a photo because I did not have my camera with me until this morning. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I came back home to visit my family over the weekend. I normally don't have the time to do so, but I'm very glad I managed to squeeze in this one visit. It gave me the chance to visit the beach near my house again, it felt just like summer! The water was a little cooler, but I was quickly able to acclimate to it (the silver lining of this awful heat we've had). It was a beautiful blue color, clear enough to even see the semi-ugly fish underneath, and the waves were super high, lots of surfers were out with me. I loved it, definitely made my week. Over the summer I used to go to the beach almost every day, but now my school schedule has prevented me from that, even though I'm lucky enough for my college to also be in a beach town. I'm going to see if I might be able to visit the beach here on Tuesday though, the highs are supposed to be in the 90's (30's C) that day -_-<br />
